The Cost Of A Worthless Degree From California State University Just Got More Costly

Inflation was pretty much non-existent during the Obama years, but you wouldn’t know that if you look at the increase in college/university fees at the state level, particularly in California. Students are told in high school that college is mandatory in order to live fertile lives and live in the elusive middle class, and are told that to get that degree they have to go into debt with no guarantees (rather an economic slavery). Most college professors and administrators are in the 2%, no, not the 1%, but well ahead of what their students should ever expect. Let’s talk because the academic bubble is still building and about to burst – things are out of control.

On March 22, 2017, ABC News Affiliate in Los Angeles (Eyewitness News 7) had a rather disturbing segment entitled: “CSU Trustees Vote to Raise Tuition by 5% Amid Protest From Students”

First, I would like to point out that the education at the California State University system has not gotten better, it has gotten worse. Graduated students are less valued in the marketplace as employers recognize that their education is not as good and that these degrees do not predict that students will be productive employees or even have any idea of what they are doing.

Most professors, especially tenured professors, do not teach much in the classroom as they spend a lot of time on sabbaticals and are now teaching by graduate students. The university’s increased costs have to do with legacy assets (pensions) and Cadillac-style health care programs for staff and professors. While their pension fund isn’t as bad as the University of California’s system, which is severely underfunded, it doesn’t break any records either — that Trump bump in the stock market recently saved their ass (temporarily), if you want to know the real skinny .

It’s time to face facts – the CSU (California State University) system is broken, academia has collapsed, close to the damn universities offering degrees in gender studies, sustainability, racial equality and LGBT -Awarding studies – these kids will never get jobs paying off those student loans – science is by any rationally observable standard on drugs – worthless – utterly worthless to survive on federal research grants and taxpayers and extorted tuition, subsidies and socialist agendas. Some in our think tank online say, to put it bluntly; “The hell with all this, it’s just bullshit now,” and I think these think tank members are absolutely right.

Why the 5% increase in tuition when enrollment is at an all-time high? Why the increase in tuition fees without increased benefits? The degrees aren’t worth more than they were last year, actually they’re worth less now. The California State University system is out of control just like the University of California system and colleges across the country have $1.4 trillion in student loan debt, 45% of those loans have never made a single payment or are 90 days overdue. The academic-industrial complex is a giant bubble about to burst, and what is the CSU system doing? Increase tuition? Oh, well, that’s only going to help a great deal… NOT!
