Understanding DevOps is easier than you think

I will try to explain 4 simple strategies for DevOps beginners

1. What is DevOps?

2. DevOps Requirements

3. DevOps: The Career

4. DevOps Engineer Salary Package

What is DevOps:-

The primarily DevOps is a software engineering culture whose primary goal is development and operations. DevOps sets the philosophies, practices, and tools to empower organizations. There is no perfect software development life cycle (SDLC) model in the software industry. If you are considering DevOps as a tool, then you are wrong! DevOps isn’t a tool or software, it’s a culture you can use to continuously improve. DevOps first try to understand the disadvantages of the last methods. Because these disadvantages of the last models have given the developers enough reason to expand and develop a new model.

Once we get into DevOps, we don’t need to go to other courses or switch because it’s a never-ending process, new tools are always coming and continually evolving and improving.

In DevOps are the most important tools:

Jenkins

• Dockers

• Cook

• Kubernetes

• Terraform

• Packers

• Nagios

• Puppet

These are essential tools for learning the DevOps course.

Requirements for DevOps:-

There are no prerequisites to learn the DevOps course, even beginners will also learn the DevOps course. But already those who have this knowledge that guys are easy to understand compared to newbies, I have given below. These are enough to learn the DevOps course. Becoming a DevOps engineer requires a special mindset. First off, the DevOps engineer would not disregard installation tasks like and configurations, nor development tasks like understanding the build process and automating tasks. There is a team working with every extra at every stage, be it development, testing, deployment or operations.

1. Basic concepts of Linux/unothing system

2. Knowledge of Command Line Interface (CLI)

3. Java Basics

4. Skill with a text editor

5. Experience managing systems/applications/infrastructure or deployments/automation

DevOps: The Career:-

I think the answer to your question really depends on what you’re passionate about. I would choose passion over all other considerations or you’ll burn out and the money won’t help (I was there). Any position you aspire to in the technology industry will require your full commitment to succeed. Starting a DevOps career is more complex than landing a more traditional tech job. However, I still see a lot of development potential for the future in the DevOps area. I’ve learned through experience in organizations large and small that as operations personnel you should better automate your work, and if you’re a developer you have to face the certainty that you have to get dirty with operations if you’re going to stay significant . Developers who don’t manage/monitor and admins who don’t develop are becoming less and less valuable to companies that need to stay competitive.

DevOps is exciting because you are constantly working with new technologies, integrating them and solving new challenges. Essentially, your job is to strike a happy balance between operations and developers. This requires aspects of IT to be securely shared so you don’t have the blame game (which I have been a part of myself). Developers need to constantly push code, and operations want everything to run smoothly. The more integrated the systems and processes used, the easier it is for everyone to do their job.

DevOps Engineer Salary Package:-

Packaging:

DevOps is great if you enjoy measuring and working with a variety of technologies and processes. I think one of the first things to consider is the packaging of the IT that the technology teams use to afford the organization’s products and services. The better wrapped and more malleable the packaging, the easier it is to keep everything standardized and reusable.

If you enjoy playing with configuration management systems (Puppet, Chef, Ansible, etc.) and dabble in imaging systems like Docker, you will like DevOps. I would like to point out that it is VERY important to create highly configurable packages of the IT systems used so that they can evolve as the needs of the organization change. This also facilitates modification for production, QA, staging and development environments.

For a newbie, it’s based on both the company and your performance. As I was told in conversation with my colleagues who work in various MNCs in India, freshman salaries vary from 3 LPA to 6 LPA depending on language proficiency and skills. Obviously, layout and demand will affect salaries significantly. But still, if you are fresher and well versed in DevOps tools, you can easily charge 7-8 lakhs in a product based company. Right now DevOps is a booming technology and if you could get 3 years experience in any company you could easily get 10-12 lakhs package in reputable companies and you will have very good growth from there.

I hope the above content will prove to be informative for all of you.
