Today’s world is run by computers and it’s time teachers understood that. The idea of going to a library and reading a book is not ideal for today’s students. Students prefer to go online and read up on a topic on a website rather than having to read an entire book or search for the part they are looking for. So if you are a teacher what should you do? Computer education for teachers shouldn’t be such a big deal as all teachers who are just starting out probably already know how to integrate technology into the classroom, so you should only need to teach those who have been teaching for a while.
But how do you integrate technology into your classrooms? That’s the question every teacher asks, and here’s the answer. Research is the main thing students use the internet for. Many school libraries and even some public libraries do not provide students with the information they need on specific topics, but the Internet almost always provides the information they need. The only issue with this is the quality of the information, but teachers can verify this by looking at the article footnotes to see where the information came from.
Many schools now have students take tests on a sheet called a scantron or other forms of it. A scantron is a sheet where you have 50 questions on each side, 100 questions in total, and get multiple choice questions AE. The teacher gives you a scantron to answer the questions on and a test sheet. The scantron is just a sheet on which you either blow AE. The teacher then enters the answers into a computer and a special machine reads the scantron and automatically scores the test based on the answers the teacher entered into the computer.
Besides research and testing, there are many other ways to incorporate computers into your classroom. There are now projection screens that you can write on, which basically makes it a white board. You can watch movies on the white board, pause the movie and draw over the movie. This is very helpful for history teachers as it allows them to teach the battles etc.
