Nothing else comes close.
How to get the most out of your e-zine…
An e-zine should be a face-to-face conversation with a single person. Tell them what you saw on TV that week, or tell them you’ve been to Vegas (if you’ve been to Vegas) or wherever you’ve been.
Just add a few lines: “I’ve seen that show, seen Love at the Mirage with the Beatles, Cirque de Soleil – it was really cool; go there if you are in town.”
If I’ve eaten at a really cool restaurant, I’ll say, “I ate at Emeril’s, man, you have to go there, it was just really good.”
If I were to take my son somewhere else, I would say, “We went to Treasure Island and watched the sirens. You should take your kids there if you have the kids in town.” Stuff like that.
People get to know you. You get to know your weaknesses, which is really important.
They learn that you’re a real person and that you’re not Superman and that you communicate like a person who has challenges in life – that goes wrong with you too. “The IRS audited us, yuk, I hated that!” or what ever.
Then go in and talk to people, give people valuable information; Article. Give them really cool stuff that they couldn’t get anywhere else if they tried.
This is how you stand out.
You’re always welcome to include a small advertisement in your e-zine, usually at the end is fine. Let people through there.
Develop the relationship – don’t try to get rich quick. Getting rich slowly is the same.
The biggest concern you and I have when someone comes to our door or we buy something; By the way, this is probably one of the most researched areas at the moment.
Doctor Erik Knowles from the University of Arkansas has done a lot of research in this particular area.
It’s called the Omega strategy. It’s a strategy unrelated to creating more value with your product or offering.
Just let your prospect know you’re human. This increases your chance of gaining trust and getting the person to like you.
If you literally tell people your weaknesses or let them know you don’t have a perfect track record, all nuclear missile defenses go down.
The person realizes that they are speaking to someone who is honest; someone who doesn’t screw her. It’s like hey, the guy just told me he’s not perfect. I don’t have to try to find his imperfection.
This goes a long way in not only building a relationship but also making sales. And yes, it’s documented; You will likely make 2-3 times more money per person using such a concept.
People do business with people they know and trust. Let your ezine help build relationships that grow your business.
