Chatbot Use in Distance Teaching and Mobile Learning

Chatbot is also called chatterbox or talkbot. This is an artificial conversational entity used as an interactive agent. It’s actually a program that can hold conversations via text or audio methods. Usually the programs are designed to simulate the actual behavior of people when having conversations and thus pass the test.

Typically, the chatbots are used within dialog systems for a variety of practical purposes, which include information gathering and customer service. There are some chatterbots that only use natural language that is sophisticated in their processing systems. However, there are some systems that are fairly basic and can scan the keywords as they were scanned in the input and then display a report with the results containing most of the keywords. Also, you may get the most similar type of phrase patterns in the database.

Chatterbot was a term coined by a certain Michael Mauldin in 1994 when the first ban was created. Today, chatbots have largely become virtual assistants like Google, and there are many ways to access them. You can use them with apps, instant messaging like Facebook Messenger, and websites.

There are also no-assistant applications that also include chatbots for entertainment and research purposes. There are the social bits used to promote topics, candidates, and products. There are those that mimic our human behavior and can interact with a range of databases.

Chatbots can be integrated with various dialogue systems such as virtual assistants, allowing them to engage in small talk or even engage in casual conversations. Today, they can also be used in various messaging platforms. The bot usually appears as a contact of the safe or even a participant within a group chat and soon. You can access all sorts of information when you have a bot, like the weather, news, directions and quotes on the stock market, and so on.

Chatbots in Education

There are chatbots that are being developed today to solve various educational challenges to make studying and learning easier. Chatbots used in education have been carefully crafted to provide students and schools with access to reliable material. Studying is made so much easier.

One of the areas that has really helped is mobile learning and distance learning. Students can get access to all the information they need. They can have their questions answered without having to speak directly to an educator. It’s a time-saving way to work through different lessons and learn on the go, wherever you are.

Such a bot can communicate through various interfaces to speed up the pace of learning and provide students with the answers they need. This type of technology also helps teachers, especially in developing countries, gain access to the highest quality materials.
